I found this sand dollar in Panama City Beach FL, last November 2007. and I spent weeks thinking about how to portray it so that the size could be appreciated. I pulled alll the shiny pennies from my change jar. It didn’t look right on top of Lincoln’s bust, so it is the only penny upside down.

Oh this is cool! I like the size comparison.
OH NO!!!!! ewwwww.. ok.. I could say wow, great shot of the sand dollar.. that sure is small.. or that is one giant penny… probably worth its weight in copper. Now if the title of the shot was "ALIEN Encounter.. alien .. alien.. bacteria?.. No.. those ideas are far fetched.. " But another message could be.. That all pennies do not have sand dollars on the head of Lincoln.. But on the NEW PENNY.. it now features sand dollars that are really small. They have done all the states on quarters… perhaps this may be a new trend.. for shells… I’ll see what I can muster up.
Wonderful shot and great way of showing size comparision. That is a TINY sand dollar.
great idea and you have definitely been successful at putting it into perspective the size of the sanddollar.
I love this! Very creative!
This is an all time favorite of mine Luann! I like how you chose to shoot this one. Very creative and your techs are all great!
