The Inscribed Artefact
This is ancient inscribed tablet from Iraq, inscribed with a cuneiform type.
It is an example of perhaps the earliest found evidence of written language.
Thanks goes to the State Library of Victoria for collating an excellent exhibition celebrating the history of the book and the written word in civilisation.
The photo was taken on a two mega pixel mobile phone camera and tidied slightly in photoshop. Very little was needed to preserve the ‘floating’ effect garnered from the lighting of the exhibition.
