This photograph is from a long time ago, probably in the early 90’s. It was shot with my old Canon A-1 35mm SLR camera on a snowy winter night, from directly in front of our house in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, USA. The falling snow had just tapered off, so I decided to catch a shot of the unspoiled snow before tuning in for the night. The large maple tree is no longer there and the new tree that replaced it must also be removed soon, due to storm damage. It was a very different time…
The negative was scanned to digital, without any post processing, except that it was cropped to the standard 8X12 format. This is a long exposure shot, captured on a Bilora Super-Biloret tripod with a remote shutter release cable. The lens was a Canon FD 35-70mm f/3.5 zoom, at the 35mm focal length. The film was Kodak T-Max 400 ASA. I have no record of the exact exposure time or f-stop settings.
