…’twas five days before Christmas at St. John the Baptist Church in Buffalo, New York, USA.

This peaceful image was captured handheld on December 19th, 2010, just prior to a family friend’s wedding. It was photographed with a Canon EOS 10D body, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens at the 17mm focal length focal length. It was shot at f/4 at 1/8th second. The camera’s ISO was set to 100.

This image is “Straight from the Camera” (as-is). The RAW camera file was converted to JPEG in Photoshop CS2 without alterations or ehancements.

Hello, My name is Gene. I live in the Susquehanna river valley (West Branch), in the mountains of north central Pennsylvania. I strive to produce photographic images that are simply “true” to the subject, usually with minimal post processing. If something is beautiful or interesting enough to deserve a viewer’s attention, it justifies being captured just as it is …or as close to reality as possible.

Nicely handled shot Gene. Attracted first by the geometry and mood, I finally noticed the human figures in the left corner = additional interest.

  • Thank you very much, Bob! The “human figures” at the back of the church are my son (the Best Man) and the Groom.

    Best regards,
