Snowy Footbridge On Evergreen Trail by

Evergreen trail is found at the very bottom of the gorge in Ricketts Glen State Park. This bridge crosses Kitchen Creek, just below Adams Falls and continues for a short distance to the south along the stream.

Ricketts Glen is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in north eastern, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre.

This photo was taken in the late evening of March 2nd, 2011, shortly after sunset. This was our last stop on a winter hike with Kevin Hart.

The image was captured with a Canon EOS 10D DSLR camera, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens at the 17mm focal length. The shutter speed was 3/4ths sec at f/11. The camera’s ISO was set to 200. A light Bilora Super-Biloret tripod was used with a Bogen head.

Same bridge, as photographed last spring

FEATURED in “Nature and Man”

Hello, My name is Gene. I live in the Susquehanna river valley (West Branch), in the mountains of north central Pennsylvania. I strive to produce photographic images that are simply “true” to the subject, usually with minimal post processing. If something is beautiful or interesting enough to deserve a viewer’s attention, it justifies being captured just as it is …or as close to reality as possible.
