This may be one of the final pictures taken of my favorite Farmhouse. As some are aware, I have been shooting this same farmland scene for about eighteen months. I have attempted to create a record this place in every season in all kinds of different light and weather. This posting shows the farmhouse and its surroundings under a perfect blue cloudless sky in early spring.
This very interesting old house is slated to be torn down very soon, so my series of photographs must obviously come to an end when that happens. I’m going to miss this old place …but the gorgeous view beyond the “Forgotten Farmhouse” will still be there …even without this abandoned home being there to anchor the scene.
The photo was taken from a hundred yards below Bartlow Road on April 10th, 2010. While it still stands, this farmhouse can be found by taking Exchange Road to Bartlow RD, about a quarter mile from RT-442. It is just a few miles east of Clarkstown, Pennsylvania, in the beautiful Muncy Valley of the good ol’ USA.
This photograph was captured with a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L zoom lens on a Canon EOS 10D DSLR camera body. The aperture was set to f/16 and the shutter speed was 1/125th sec, at the 55mm focal length. The camera’s ISO was set to 100.
