Rider Park is a wonderful place for hiking, mountain biking and bird watching in north central Pennsylvania. This trail side sign lists some of the more interesting sites along the way.

Rider Park (Community Park) was a generous gift from the late Thomas J. Rider to all of the residents of Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The nearest town is Montoursville, PA. The park can be located by taking Warrensville Road at the Montoursville bridge over the Loyalsock Creek. Continue past the junction of Route 973 by approximately 1 mile. Take the right onto Caleb Creek Road. Follow this road for about 1.7 miles, to the small parking area for Rider Park.

This photo was taken “handheld” with a Canon EOS 10D through a Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 wide-angle prime lens. The shutter speed was 1/180 sec at f/5.6. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. No flash was used.
