The “dog days” of summer were providing only a bit more than a trickle at the F. L. Ricketts cascading waterfall on this very hot August day.
This is Ricketts Glen State Park, located along Route 118 in north eastern Pennsylvania, near the small town of Red Rocks. It is a wonderful park with excellent hiking trails through the forest that pass by many beautiful waterfalls along the way.
This shot was captured on August 13th, 2006 with a Canon EOS 10D camera body with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Ultra-Wide Angle lens, zoomed to the widest setting. Exposure was 1/10th sec. @ f/8. The camera’s ISO setting was 100. A tripod was used with a remote shutter release.
