Velvety Magnolia Blossoms by

I wait patiently every year for my neighbor’s magnolia tree to blossom. I grab my camera as soon as I see the tree reach its beautiful spring peak. The magnolias bloomed on April 20th 2008 and I took this photo on the 22nd. It’s always been worth the year long wait.

This photo was shot with a Canon EOS 10D using a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens, 1/250th sec. @ f/8. The ISO was set to 100.

Hello, My name is Gene. I live in the Susquehanna river valley (West Branch), in the mountains of north central Pennsylvania. I strive to produce photographic images that are simply “true” to the subject, usually with minimal post processing. If something is beautiful or interesting enough to deserve a viewer’s attention, it justifies being captured just as it is …or as close to reality as possible.
