Walk In The Park

It rained over two inches today and the wind was downright nasty. So of course, I decided to take a stroll through Bandon Park in the heart of Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Light was practically nonexistent, but the downpour had just ended, so I mounted my camera on the ol’ tripod and started shootin’ up a storm. Turns out, it was a much more beautiful autumn evening than I ever could have hoped for!

The city of Williamsport owns this beautiful park and it is meticulously maintained by our Parks & Recreation Department.

The leaves will all be gathered and will be used to make a wonderfully rich mulch. The mulch is used by the city and is also made available to local residents in the spring for their gardening needs.

A Canon EOS 10D DSLR body, fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens. The lens was set to its 24mm focal length. The camera’s shutter speed was 1/6th sec at f/8. ISO was set to 400. This photograph was taken on a Manfrotto tripod.

    Thanks a lot! Actually, this location is not very far from upstate New York. The terrain is very similar here, with the same mix of trees and plants. This shot could easily have been found north of the PA border, although, New York’s leaves do turn slightly earlier than ours.
