Watkins Glen After The Storm

A hike through Watkins Glen State Park in New York was interrupted by a quick moving thunderstorm. The temporary additional waterfall (known as “Rainbow Falls”) along the trail caught my eye within this magically majestic scene.

This photograph was captured with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens on a Canon EOS DSLR body. The aperture was f/22, shutter speed 1.5 sec at 40mm focal length. The camera & Lens were mounted on a Manfrotto tripod with a Manfrotto “joystick” ball head. A remote shutter release was used to minimize movement. The image was cropped for width to accommodate printing as an 8 X 10 aspect ratio print. Some contrast correction was applied.
