I was born in the wild hills of West Virginia, raised in western Maryland and currently live with my wonderful wife and two sons in north central Pennsylvania, USA.

My higher education includes Theological Studies, Electronics Engineering, Audio Engineering and Visual Arts. I taught at Pennsylvania College of Technology (Penn State Affiliate).

Music and photography have been my passions for over 30 years (OK, it’s closer to 40… but who’s counting). Playing bass and guitar keeps me humble. Listening to music inspires me. Photography allows me to express myself artistically and create a visual record of travels, family life & experiences.

I use Canon photographic gear primarily, although my first “serious” camera was a Mamiya. My second camera was a Canon A-1, followed by a host of EOS film and digital SLR bodies. I still use the old A-1 occassionally, partly due to the excellent FD lenses that I have accumulated over the years. That camera has been almost like a friend to my wife and me. The three of us (including the A-1) have visited a lot of very interesting places together. We get to “revisit” them anytime we feel like rummaging through the hundreds of pounds of banker’s boxes that are filled with our precious prints, slides and negatives. (Talk about a “mountain of memories…”)

I shoot mostly in Digital format currently, using all Canon EOS DSLR cameras, with my collection of very fine “EF Series” Canon lenses. Capturing the beauty and complexity of nature is my main interest, from macro close-ups to wide view vistas and everything in between.
