White Bay Power Station Open Day.
This huge, old power station was opened to the public on Saturday 26 February 2011, and was eagerly visited by thousands of us who live in its shadow. Outside, it’s big. Inside, it was terrific – difficult to photograph given the low light and the inconvenience of using monopods and tripods among the thousands of visitors. But for those of us who enjoy derelict-style industrial subjects, it was a treat.

Great shot – recognised this straight away – from the Open day in May. Again, many shooters, with tripods given priority on the Sunday.
