This scene depicts an old Fla cracker cabin that sits at the edge of a clearing. In the foreground two male Osceola turkeys are preparing to do battle for dominance over the area. Every spring this amazing event has repeated itself for thousands of years. The Osceola turkey can only be found in the state of Florida. The old cabin in the background is a typical find on some of the older ranches in Fla. As a matter of fact, the history of Florida cracker cowboys itself is fascinating. This particular ranch is actually located in Immokalee Fla. As with all of my work, I prefer acrylic paints because of the clarity and quick drying time , as I never ever draw a painting out first but would rather use a paint brush to begin with.
