Driving Through Zion © by © Hany G. Jadaa © Prince John Photography

Since my approach to Zion National Park was from the east side (heading back to Vegas), you have to travel along what is known as the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive. The route travels through a narrow, dark, winding one-way canyon tunnel road carved underneath the massive rocks and cliffs above. Unfortunately, there is no way to stop to capture any photos through the very small ventilation port hole openings on the side.

This was one of the scenes I captured before entering the tunnel while waiting for the traffic exiting from the other direction. Interestingly, and judging by the colour of the formation, one would notice that the geology in this area is totally different from what I have experienced within the entire area of Arizona and the Grand Canyon.

Unfortunately, and due to severe time constraints, I did not get a chance to see much of Zion NP other than what I saw driving through. I know I will be returning to the area one day soon.

Hope you like this one.

Since joining RB I’ve greatly enjoyed being part of a lovely community of wonderful people. I’ve also made some new friends that I hope to meet one day in person. I have several passions/hobbies/professions (music, photography, martial arts & yes environmental engineering to name a few)! I am very blessed being able to work in all of these. Please feel free to visit & provide honest opinion on my photos as I am still learning (a day that goes by without learning anything is a wasted day).

Isn’t it amazing how 1/250 of a second captures a landscape which took countless thousands of years to form. Time constraints. I hope on your return, you will have less time constraints Hany, and be able to bring us more images of this spectacular area. :)george

  • Thank you again George for your wonderful support of my photography. It is locations like this that are spectacular; all I do is “frame” the scene and “click away”. I am hoping for a return trip one day with less time constraints and perhaps more images. I will leave the “spectacular” part to nature.
