This is a close-up (closer-up) of my first image of Vermillion Cliffs. Approaching this one cliff from about a 1000 feet away, I thought I would climb this one for an overall view of the area!!! Right!!! Wrong again. This baby was at least about 700 to 800 feet high. And that was the smallest of them all.

For a full description, please see my first image of this place.

Hope you like this one too.

Since joining RB I’ve greatly enjoyed being part of a lovely community of wonderful people. I’ve also made some new friends that I hope to meet one day in person. I have several passions/hobbies/professions (music, photography, martial arts & yes environmental engineering to name a few)! I am very blessed being able to work in all of these. Please feel free to visit & provide honest opinion on my photos as I am still learning (a day that goes by without learning anything is a wasted day).

Wow my dear Hany…………….this is impressive indeed…………………it looks like a fortress……………… it possible to go part of the way………………there seems to be little pathways going up the side……………….it also looks like it would crumble very easily……………..anyway I am glad you decided not to venture up here………….not the place to have a tumble…………………….the title is excellent by the way……………….anyway I await the next image and we will continue our journey of discovery from there……………from your very willing to accompany you friend……………..Joyce!!

  • Thank you again Joyce for this lovely morning visit……. always most enjoyable to see you in the morning with my regular overdose of Java and music selection of the day……. definitely not a place for a tumble…….. 911 service would be non-existent at best at this location……. but just to show you how naive I was in my thought…… everything is decieving in that area…. just the sheer size of these things looks quite intimidating…… thank you so much Joyce for joining me on this magnificent journey…. it is your company that is making it enjoyable……. I hope you’re enjoying it as much as I am…… Hany

Such an awesome scene, and so many intricate layers, shapes and curves. I can see what looks to be some kind of a fortress in this image with turrets along the top… is it that weather conditions can create such awe inspiring visuals. So you tried to climb it did you… well at least you tried! Maybe if your trip had been longer, you could have made it…..and of course there would have been a cup of coffee waiting for you :o) Susan

  • Hi Susan; there is no way in hell that I could have climbed that one, even if I really wanted to. A cup of coffee you say? I would have probably needed two pots of coffee and 20 gallons of water to get up there. This baby was REALLY high and very decieving. Glad you liked this image Susan. One of my favorite cliffs in the area. Hany
