For those of you who have been slip sliding away with me on this wonderful trip, I promise you. This is the last one of this area. I also thought I should have another attempt at 3-image HDR processing.
Oak Creek Canyon, aka Slide Rock Canyon, is part of Slide Rock State Park in Arizona. Named after the famous Slide Rock, it is a natural water slide formed by the slippery bed of Oak Creek. As the elevation drops from one end to the other, Slide Rock becomes a natural water chute for swimmers and sliders. And it is not as simple as it looks as I have seen people slide through it and coming out with bruises, some with laughter while others in tears.
According to local history, this entire area used to be an apple orchard back in the early 1900s. It is a wonderful spot located about 7 miles north of Sedona within the Coconino National Forest. Most definitely worth a visit if you’re planning a trip down to Arizona country.
Hope you like this one too. And if you do, please check all other photos under my portfolio titled “Vegas Versus The Canyon”. Thank you all for visiting.
