We launched leggings! Step into a world of individuality.

For those of you who have been slip sliding away with me on this wonderful trip, I promise you. This is the last one of this area. I also thought I should have another attempt at 3-image HDR processing.

Oak Creek Canyon, aka Slide Rock Canyon, is part of Slide Rock State Park in Arizona. Named after the famous Slide Rock, it is a natural water slide formed by the slippery bed of Oak Creek. As the elevation drops from one end to the other, Slide Rock becomes a natural water chute for swimmers and sliders. And it is not as simple as it looks as I have seen people slide through it and coming out with bruises, some with laughter while others in tears.

According to local history, this entire area used to be an apple orchard back in the early 1900s. It is a wonderful spot located about 7 miles north of Sedona within the Coconino National Forest. Most definitely worth a visit if you’re planning a trip down to Arizona country.

Hope you like this one too. And if you do, please check all other photos under my portfolio titled “Vegas Versus The Canyon”. Thank you all for visiting.

Since joining RB I’ve greatly enjoyed being part of a lovely community of wonderful people. I’ve also made some new friends that I hope to meet one day in person. I have several passions/hobbies/professions (music, photography, martial arts & yes environmental engineering to name a few)! I am very blessed being able to work in all of these. Please feel free to visit & provide honest opinion on my photos as I am still learning (a day that goes by without learning anything is a wasted day).

Another beautiful view of this area Hany. The redness of the iron rich rocks has some similarity to the ones found in our outback. What I’ll have to do now, of course, is gird my loins and do an extensive trip around Australia, just to show you what I mean! Have a look at the gallery of Robert Elliot on RB – he has some great outback pictures (+ many others) in his gallery. :)george

  • Many thanks George; I most definitely will look at Mr. Elliot’s gallery as I would love to learn more about your beautiful country; and I don’t doubt the red rocks a bit in Australia as we are not so special here in that regards… I look forward to more images from your corner of the planet. Many thanks for the suggestion and for the visit George. Sincerely appreciated as always.

Gorgeous, the warmth of the rocks and the coolness of that clear water is a perfect partnership, where else would you want to be! Beautiful work. :)

  • Thanks again Robyn; very lovely comment.. many thanks. As where else would I want to be? Well there are so many beautiful places on this planet as depicted in the hundreds if not thousands of images that we see on RB every week. But one place that comes to mind right now is your beautiful country Australia. I’m hoping to plan a trip to the land down under in the next 2 to 3 years. Thank you ever so much for all your visits this morning and for your lovely feedback. Sincerely appreciated Robyn. Hany

I would like to sit under the little tree on the bend and just contemplate this magnificent scene of peace, colour, serenity, majesty and utter gorgeousness……………………I think this is my very favourite one but I know they are your little children and you don’t have a favourite……………I just love it………what more can I say…………………….your images have brightened up an otherwise dull evening…………………..your little sitting on the couch looking at a red wall friend……………Joyce!!

  • What can I say Joyce….. other than…. I am humbled by your words…. did I ever tell you that you are making my head swell?….. ok… you don’t have to answer that…… I am glad that this is one of your favorites; it is one of mine too as it was at a point in the stream where I walked away from all the madness and the noise and just had a moment to myself to absorb it all and then capture it without any human distractions…. well except for that one young lady and her mother who were visiting from Germany and for some odd reason I got to hear their entire life story and all of their love affairs in the span of about 15 minutes, only to find out that it is the mother, not the daugher, who was more interested in meeting her perfect match in this strange land more so than just enjoying the natural beauty surrounding her….. and that was my excitement for the day…. from your Canadian friend who cannot get all that excited about those things when in a strange place with a camera and a tripod in hand……Hany
