More majestic rocks along Interstate 93 and the US 40 Highway heading towards Seligman and Flagstaff in Arizona (Day 4 of my trip).

When I first saw the large red rock in the foregound, it looked liked it was guarding its two siblings, the smaller rocks on the right hand side of the frame (which were also huge; and to put it all in perspective, all you have to do is look at the trees lying at the foot of the smaller boulders). But when I stopped to take in the entire view, I realized that what I was looking at is a family of giants; giants in the company of other giants; all looking after each other in their own way. And in peaceful harmony, they all produced part of this magnificent landscape.

Wish humans can learn a lesson from that.

Hope you like this one too.

Since joining RB I’ve greatly enjoyed being part of a lovely community of wonderful people. I’ve also made some new friends that I hope to meet one day in person. I have several passions/hobbies/professions (music, photography, martial arts & yes environmental engineering to name a few)! I am very blessed being able to work in all of these. Please feel free to visit & provide honest opinion on my photos as I am still learning (a day that goes by without learning anything is a wasted day).

More magnificence Hany! The mind cannot conceive of the forces which created this region in the first place, then the other forces, over the millenia, which have brought them to their current shapes. Red layers, white layers, varying compositions all moulded together in your family of giants. We could ponder how relatively insignificant – but not unimportant – we are in the great scheme of the Universe. :)george

  • Many thanks George. Your comments are very thought provoking, especially for a simple minded guy like me on a Saturday morning nevertheless. It is indeed beyond my simple mind to fathom the everlasting power and eternal majesty of our beautiful planet; introduce to that Godly formula us, humans, and how we tend to muck around with nature trying to mold it to our needs; and in doing so, we never seem to learn a single lesson from our eternal mother. We have only one planet….. this planet…. lets take care of it.

Here I am turning all philosophical and mushy about my planetary feelings; so I better stop now and attend to the relatively insignificant and mundane tasks in life. Hany

This is a beautiful site to wake up too. The Land of the Giants, I’m waving up at you as I am
right down the bottom, be careful where you put your feet..lol

  • Hi Tracy; good morning….. or should I say good afternoon? lol……. didn’t want to disturb your peace early this morning, so brunch was served straight to your bedside. I hope you enjoyed it……. Coffee, cookies and roses…. in bed….. am I spoling you? lol… But I really appreciate you waking up and joining me to visit the Land of the Giants. Now if you can join me at the top, I don’t have to watch where I put my feet anymore ☺☺☺

Magnificent Hany!!..I’m a little late today, had to browse the flea markets with a friend of mine, she twisted my arm so I couldn’t refuse…..love this, so powerful, and just look at the strata and colour!! I can see why you call them Giants always protecting younger and smaller siblings…isn’t the planet a fabulous place to live!!

  • Thank you Kate; I’m sure your arm hurts a little LOL….. These boulders/rocks/cliffs whatever we want to call them were truly magnificent and full of life and colour. Only if we learn from mother nature! Thank you Kate; sincerely appreciate the favorite. And thanks for the visit.
