Paseo del Morro is a pathway that leads from the entrance to the city’s bay to the Old San Juan Gate, and it follows the contours of the city walls (goes to show you how well fortified this city was). The pathway is directly beneath the very imposing El Morro Fort.

Originally it was used as a service road for the western section of the San Juan Wall and in 1998 it was opened to the public. From this pathway you can see the city walls and the El Morro Fort along with the adjacent cemetery.

Since joining RB I’ve greatly enjoyed being part of a lovely community of wonderful people. I’ve also made some new friends that I hope to meet one day in person. I have several passions/hobbies/professions (music, photography, martial arts & yes environmental engineering to name a few)! I am very blessed being able to work in all of these. Please feel free to visit & provide honest opinion on my photos as I am still learning (a day that goes by without learning anything is a wasted day).

What a fabulous wall…………..love the textures and the domed section………just wonderful Hany…………….I can feel the heat……..Joyce!!

  • Thank you Joyce. This wall is part of the appeal that Old San Juan has… the history here is just fascinating; and you can feel it in every section of this wall… all you have to do is walk by it to experience its historical power and feel its present value to the entire city’s appeal. And yes, the heat…. but that’s something else… many, many thanks Joyce. Really appreciate all those wonderful comments and the favorites.
