Description : For many Waari is not just a joy, it’s a journey of emotions. As it happens once in a year, peoples come to Pune & other locations traveling distant part of western & south west India. Most of them come every year & they need no invitation. Just a call from their beloved Vithoba and you’ll find them on their way to eternity…
I tried to use negative space in this series with the portraits of the Varkaris against the background of events happening during the Waari. This was my first but accidental capture & the concept started developing immediately. I had limited option using 50 mm prime lens as I could not zoomed it, leaving only with to click in a flash of time as the time was moving fast…
Equipment : Canon EOS 400D, Canon 50 mm prime lens.
Av – F3.2, Tv – 1/40, ISO – 100. Hand held.
Location : Pune, India
Processing : Photomatix HDR generated work. Single RAW file was converted to 13 TIFF images @ 0.25 stop & cooked in Photomatix 3.2, final tonemapped image was processed in PS.
