My lense has got a problem

Hello Bubblers,

Sad news this time!

Those who are aware, I had purchased Tamron’s 28 – 300 mm VC lense in March’08 and which has given so many crispy photographs to me has got a fatal problem. It has stopped working & my Canon mount is displaying Error 99 In Canon’s words, lense has got electronic incompatibility. I have written a mail to Customer support but the mail is delivered to Tamron USA & they have raised their hands up saying, they don’t handle business in my country – India. They have forwarded the mail to Tamron – Japan, but I have not received any responce from any of both operations since last 4 days.

Although, I have Canon’s 75 – 300 mm lense, for me it’s a sudden shock and I am pushed back for about 4 months. I hope Tamron will give repairing service or replacement. Otherwise it’s very much uncertain where this will end up, as I cannot go for any new lense in immidiate future. I’ll update you all, about the development in coming time.

I’m very much dipressed now, even recent feature of Blossom in the blue I’ve taken very quietly. I’m very greatful to all my friends here for inspiring me all the time, but I don’t have any way ahead otherwise.

Surely your lens is under warranty?
Have you taken it back to the dealer that you purchased it from?

It’s under warranty. I had a word’with the dealer, but it’s Tamron who has to do all the rest work.

As it is under warranty they will have to do something. It will probably just take some time. I hope not too much time though. All the best to you Prasad.

Go to the person whom you purchased it from & demand that he replace it & for him to have the worry of getting it replaced with Tamron or at lease ask him to lend you one until yours is repaired
    Worth a go

Thanks for inspring words Paul. I’m planning to take it to the dealer next week. It takes about 200 Km. travel to reach out. That’s why it’s got more serious. All you kind wishes to fruit soon, friend.

Much inspired with your words, Deb. It might be because I got tooooo much addicted with it. Might have kept going with the others, too. I’m not worried about the images in coming time with rest of the lenses, but worried I cannot bare financial loss otherwise.

Wish your ( and everyone who’s here to support ) wishes to fruit something good soon.

    :)

Thanks Gary! Next week I’m planning for it. It takes about 200 Km. travel to reach out there. Hope everything will be fine. I’m awaiting Tamron’s reply, that would help much better. If not then it’ll at least make think others about how it treats their customers. I don’t have that good experience with it since I purchase it, make me worry more.

I’m expecting some explanation from Tamron, why the lense have malfunctioned? At least, it’ll show their approch to customers will make everyone aware to think of a bit. In crises customer support plays a big role in every business, those who reach their customers early sail every business opportunity & grow.

Thanks for the kind support, Sharon.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for an answer.
Go back to where you bought it and demand a replacement like Gary wrote.
