Another capture from viewfinder!

Pune, the city I live in is a historic place. The city started to flourish about 400 years back during the rule of Shivaji, the Great ( 1630 -1680 ) – who raised his empire fighting against 5 foreign rulers ( Muslim rulers from Iran, Afghanistan, the Turki origin and East India Co. – all were trying to spread their rule in India ) single handed, governing major part of India in 17th century. He started his endeavor at the age of 16 for Maratha Empire. Pune is covered by the ranges of Sahyadri ( termed as western ghat during British rule ) from three sides. After him, the Marathas thrashed Mogul empire. The strongest mogul emperor – Aurangzeb laid his life fighting against Marathas for 27 years in his ambitious effort to conquer the new born Maratha rule & never returned to his home town, the capital city – Delhi. After the fall or weakening of Mogul empire, the power play was replaced by the Peshwas – the Prime ministers in Maratha empire and extended their rule up to Atak now in Pakistan, taking their horses beyond river the Sindhu.

This photograph, as replied to my friend – Dennis here was taken on at Parvati in Pune, besides a temple – just falling against the odds of time.

Hope all you’ll enjoy the historic treat!

We have a monsoon here & it’s almost overcast conditions. I sighted this one at a location Parvati in my city – Pune. A historic place with a cluster of temples on a small hill top. Pune had a rich time about 300 years back when ruled by Peshwas for Maratha Empire & it used to be the capital city – of the empire & India for a short period of time.

Thanks my friend, your words are always inspiring!
