If you’ve ever been to Key West, you will certainly be familiar with Dominique and his Flying House Cats…..........Dominique and his kitties have been performing on the pier at sunset in Key West for as long as I can remember …........ I have seen his show many times over many years….................This is the lovely Cossette who chose to leap over the hoop instead of through the hoop this time…........

Hi Judi…....This fellow takes in shelter or stray cats and trains them ….....would you believe they even jump through hoops of fire!!! It’s quite amazing to train a cat to do anything at all…....you can tell his kitties love him….....and yes, they do jump through the hoops too….....THANK YOU so much for your grand comment my lovely Friend….............xxx

Sunset on the Pier in Key West. Lots of memories there. When Matt & I went there on our honeymoon, there was performing pot belly pig that jumped through a hoop. (not as high as this kitty though!) Fabulous action shot Ms. Rose. You caught it right at the peak of the jump. I’m really enjoying all the terrific pix you got in Florida. keep ‘em coming.

Ha-Ha!! People think this act is either bizarre, amazing or abusive to cats….......I personally like him and know how much he loves his kitties…....I read he put his daughter through university on the funds from this show….......He’s a KeyWest icon….........

He uses about 4 cats in the show but he has many more that he’s constantly training….....it’s quite an incredible act as you, of all people, can only imagine training a cat to do anything in front of a crowd of people by the ocean!! Great freeze frame capture! Even if the cat missed the loop it still really amazing that someone was able to teach a cat a trick. I can’t even get my cat to stay.

Never saw the performing cats in person, great shot.
I think it’s the extended family of Ernest Hemingway, he had 30 or 40 cats in Key West when he lived there.You must have loved that place, never been there but always wanted to go.

Hi Barbara, This is definitely one of my FAV places in the States….....I never miss Dominique’s show…....the cats also jump through hoops of fire, I’m not kidding…........to ‘train’ a cat to do anything is quite an achievement (as I’m sure you know)..........
