This image was shot along Texas 118 near Ft. Davis, Texas (USA) in the Davis Mountains State Park in West Texas. This road seemed to go on forever and, while this is the alternate route to I-10, the old San Antonio to El Paso highway, I was struck by the fact that there was no traffic at all. I pulled over, put my camera on a tripod and set up in the middle of the road. I was shooting from that position for a good 15 minutes and not another car passed by in either direction.
I shot three exposures with the mirror locked across five-stops and merged them using Photomatix Pro. I then converted the resulting hdr tonemapped image into this infrared image using the Photoshop plugin by PhotoWiz called B&W Styler.
I donate 25% of the profits from the sale of this image to The Prostate Cancer Foundation.
