    You lucky sod. That is a Macleay’s swallowtail. I have seen a few in highland areas this Summer but none would sit still for me.

    Oh excellent Paul! :) I’ve got these in my garden (just north of Newcastle). I find they don’t sit for long. I’ve only managed a photo in the rain, that’s the only time I’ve actually seen them sit for a while! lOL!

    They are such pretty butterflies! Well done! It’s not an easy one to catch.
