Rusty Razor by Ken Powers

Currently unavailable for purchase

I found this old razor blade while taking a walk and for some reason the character of it appealed to me. It is painted with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The character of these paints coupled with the coarse grain of this paper help to add to the rusty texture of the piece.

I am a still-life and floral watercolor artist based in the Tacoma, Washington USA area. My work can be found in collections throughout the world as well as on the set of ABC Studio’s television series, “Desperate Housewives.”

Ouch! Wouldn’t want to shave with this one! Perfect, Ken. Masterfully done.

  • Anyone who uses this is going to need a tetanus shot I think!

The paper textures are amazing. I love that the darker hues are in line with the razor slash point and then fade out to the otherside. really good. fav of course :-)
