The concept for this painting came from one of my coworkers and it seems to beckon the likes of a campfire horror tale. One in which a ghastly white hand reaches from inside the acoustic guitar in your bedroom and begins to play you a midnight serenade. I decided to paint this in a much looser fashion than most of my other work and find parts of the painting to be unusually interesting. The piece is painted with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The intense granulating character of this paint coupled with the texture of the Arches paper creates for very interesting effects.

A different concept indeed. Sorta spooky & thought provoking.
A bit unusual for me as far as the subject matter goes. Just trying something different for a change.
