These flowers were sitting on my Father-In-Law’s mantel and I couldn’t resist painting them. I have no idea what type they are as they are artificial but I really liked them. I tried to make the shadowing appear as if it were created by late afternoon sun shining through the window. The piece is painted with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The coarse paper and heavily granulated paints help to add character to this piece. The original piece is 5″×7″ in size.
