I painted these old 1920’s medicine bottles during a power failure. It turned out to be a bit more difficult for me to get the values correct by candle light. It was a lot of fun though. The piece is painted with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paints on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The interaction of the paper and paint creates some nice textures that help more accurately convey the irregularities in the glass of the bottles. The original is 7″×5″ in size.
