This original piece is designed to highlight the image of the lock and its rusty surroundings. This lock has seen many years of use and it is surprising to find it is still operational. It was painted using Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The combination of Arches course grained paper and the large pigmented Rublev paint helps the rust in this piece come alive. The original piece is 7″×5″ in size.
