This is a quick painting of one of the acoustic guitars in my collection. Once the largest guitar producing company in the world, the now defunct Harmony company produced literally tens of thousands of instruments that have little to no value to the current collectible market. This one is from 1953 and resides in my current instrument collection. I never played it in my career as a professional musician and it required a lot of work to make it playable at all. It has a pretty nice feel and sound but lacks some of the nuances of some of the more popular producers. I painted this quick painting with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The paper and paint combination create fantastic textures in the wood and pick guard of the instrument. The original piece is 7″×5″ in size.
