Oh what a drudge! At the very least a ballpoint pen would be nice… Very cool capture!

  • I didn’t think of that Monnie. Also, I hadn’t thought about charging the laptop as no electricity in those days of course. Silly me. Thanks and cheers. Tony.

  • Thanks Sylvia. Village was much like those that existed at same time in your country. Built on wetlands so walkways between houses. Cheers.Tony.

Ha ha great capture and title Tony ~ I think our little school got past the quills but definitely had to use those silly scratchy pens and dip them in the inkwells ~ got more ink on me than the paper … we were not allowed proper fountain pens until we got a bit older ~ ah for the good old days :)

  • Aah !. Remember them well Susie. Of course though, in my case they followed the slate boards and chalk which is what I started with. Those old pens also made good darts for us boys when the teacher went out of the room trouble was the sore backside after a good smacking when caught. ( To think some people pay for that sort of thing now, weird ). Cheers. Tony.

    Hahaha Tony! Great title :))

  • Glad you like it Kate. My house is a bit like that inside except we’ve now got an oil lamp instead of tallow candles. Real progress in Wales now. Cheers.Tony.

I think the family goose breathed a sigh of relief when fountain pens were invented ! Very interesting shot Tony.

  • Lot of naked birds running round in those days. Ooops!!!, better rephrase that, bald geese as you suggested. I don’t know though, over the beach the other day …………………. No, better not talk about that here. Cheers and thanks Roy.

Fantastic find… Love all the artifacts and details…

  • I know, great aren’t they. The wife insisted that we did the house up a bit so I’m glad you like it now it’s finished. Sorry, sorry. Really is an interesting place. The village dates from the 15th century and has some really great things to see. Cheers and thanks.Tony.

looks like a fun place to visit Tony xx

  • Hi Lynn. It really is quite a place to be honest. Although reconstructed from remains found in the boggy ground, it is a pretty accurate picture of such a little village in about 1450 AD and some of the things that they had are basically still in use today although now made of plastic etc. Located in a huge parkland as well with massive lakes. Wildlife galore. Cheers now. Tony.
