Wow great close up Tony , hope you didn’t get stung xx

  • Thanks Lynn. Had to get very close as don’t possess any special lenses like Macro. Love bees though and even hols big Bumblebees sometimes without trouble. Wasps however scare me to death and I hate getting stung as I’m a big baby. Cheers. Tony.

I hate “bugs” of any kind, but I’m actually rather glad to see this one – bees have become almost an endangered species at least on this side of the pond. Beautiful capture, by the way!!

  • Also very endangered over here Monnie and the cause of a lot of serious concern as they are essential for pollinating so many of our food plants. Glad you liked the little fellar. Cheers.Tony.

Yikes! That is one awesome close up!!! Hope your have a macro lens and weren’t that close, I’m a big chicken myself!!! Great shot and title!!! xoxoxxoxo

  • Can’t afford a Macro lens Shar. Have to make do with one good Canon lens and a cheap longer length zoom lens. Bees are O.K. though and usually quite placid but in the States you have African bees especially down south and they are really vicious and will attack with provocation. Thanks for liking my title. Thought of James Cagney in that old film of his which I can’t remember the name of ( old age ). Cheers. ( Keep away from splinters not bees. )

This is great Tony – terrific clarity and colours !

  • Thanks Roy. I especially like bees as their honey goes into making Mead which is a lovely traditional drink. Bit sweet but better than a lot of other drinks. Cheers.Tony.

  • Thanks Jude. He was one hell of a worker buzzing from flower to flower so fast I had a job to keep up with him. Cheers.Tony.

Tony, this is a “BEEauty” :-)

  • Just think Elfie, if it wasn’t for these busy little fellars you and I wouldn’t have any flowers to take shots of. Many thanks for the lovely comment. Cheers.Tony.
