On being fat

You’re fat, you know
And you know why
It’s no good pointing
Your eyes at the sky
You eat too much
And do too little
That’s why you’re thickening
Round the middle

It is easy,
So I’ve heard,
To loose the weight,
It is absurd
That I eat as much as I do,
It can only make,
Me horribly blue.
When I look,
In the mirror
And see such
A ‘great’ figure,
Larger than it was before
I must diet,
Oh what a chore!

I do a bit
On the bicycle,
I strain myself
On the stepper,
I walk the block
A mile or two,
But my shape
Doesn’t get any better,
I just like food
And when in the mood
I eat until I am stuffed.
Even when logic says
‘You can’t eat if you’re dead
Hey you’ve had
More than enough’

I used to be slim
And size 10 within
I could fit my slender frame.
But today there’s no way
I’ll fit in that size
And that thin person
Deep inside,
Sits right down
And heartily cries,
While my mouth relentlessly
Stuffs it in.
I don’t think,
I will ever be thin!
