this brings back memories of when the hop convention was held there in Florida. My husband and I visited a place similar to this and I took oodles of photos of alligators! I should try and find those pics…hmmm This is very pretty and I’ll bet it is a gorgeous walk with a lot of different animals tucked in between!

  • Rosalie Scanlon replied

You should try to find your photos. This is a lovely place and we usually do see a lot of birds, sometimes racoons and Owls. Thanks for your nice comment.

The boardwalk is a wonderful idea to be able to walk through the dense forest and appreciate the beauty of nature without having too much adverse effect on the area, good eye-leading composition and so much depth of detail, most interesting to see and well captured Rosalie,
    Regards, Rod.

Ah, a friend of mine and I visited this place two years ago and were all excited until we encountered a huge alligator very close to the boardwalk – something we are definitely not used to here in Germany! I slowly, very slowly passed the animal, so did my friend and then we more or less ran away. Later my friend told me she had never seen my legs shake so hard, LOL! – Great picture, my photos didnĀ“t come out that well!

  • Rosalie Scanlon replied

Oh how funny, although it probably wasn’t funny to you at the time you saw the Alligator. Usually they will not bother you and at the nature preserves they are used to seeing people. They only time they become dangerous is if people feed them, and it is strictly forbidden to even take food into the Nature Preserves. My friends and I have been going to these places for years and have seen many Alligators, in fact some of the images of them are posted in my portfolio. Hope you are not too scared to come back again.
