Hawk On The Prowl by Dave Davis

It was in the late afternoon that this Osprey was patrolling for fish in Lake Tanwax (Near Tacoma in Washington State, USA). He must have been accustomed to the presence of humans, since he allowed me to get close enough to get this picture. When I hit the shutter, he was in the process of making a sharp turn and was diving towards the water, all in the same motion. Notice how he controls the feathers on his starboard wing in the process of that maneuver.
