Don’t be surprised if you see some Traditional artworks floating around which were done after some of my Self Portraits. I’ve given permission to the group Bubbler Portraits to use me as a model reference for an upcoming Challenge

Some photographers don’t want people doing this. But I generally allow people to use my self portraits as references as long as they ask permission first and credit me. The reason being, Traditional art such as drawing and painting is very unique and different from photography. I in no way consider it copying my work, unless they were tracing my image and not being creative with it. I don’t consider this Stock or me giving my work away to be used as Stock, because I don’t allow photo manipulations, collages or other forms of art to be done with my photography. Only Traditional Art.

So far it’s been really cool to see different renderings of my self portraits and it’s cool to know I helped the creative process along. However I usually don’t give permission for my photography which was done with a different model or with other people involved, since the work then also belongs to them. And requires their permission.
