Good colour saturations and excellent blacks. Lighting is very good and suits this image perfectly. I like the composition.
What post production did you do Jessica?

Oh I did lots… I pinched the image so the face was larger at the top (something I do sometimes, it’s one of my favorite distortions in PS)
I blacked out and enlarged the eyes, saturated the colors to achieve green shades. I blurred it so it was softer. Sometimes with tricky lighting, comes tricky grain.. even with a nice camera. I could show you the original photo, but that would ruin the mystery of it. ;)

Thanx for that Jessica, I would love to see the original. Seriously.
While I am [obviously] a photographer, my passion is for post production. What I really like about this image is that your post production is not obvious. The way you have pinched the face could also have been achieved with a wide angle lens tilted forward towards your forehead. In fact, this is what I thought you had done.

I’m not that into post production or photo manipulation. Mostly because I’m not very good at it and I try and keep my photos as real as possible. But almost always I will do minor editing such as color correction, enhancing eyes or smoothing out/getting rid of imperfections. In this case though, every now and then it is fun to mess with photos and turn them into something completely different. I don’t actually own a wide angled lens so I have to use photo shop if I want to achieve that look. It’s cool that’s what you’d thought I’d done though. Here is the original image completely un-altered. The things on my eyebrows are feathers in case you’re wondering. ;) Definitely not a very good photo when you view it as is haha.
