Once upon a fairy tale,
Many moons ago
When stories told were cast in stone
And left in minds to grow…..................
A competition, just for fun
For all you writers and non writers out there,
Just for fun, I thought it would be good to have a little comp.
So for all of you who are up for it, carry on from where I have left off and we will see what we can come up with.
Also I though it would be interesting to see where the different minds amongst us will direct it.
Also I am doing this because, I don’t think writers get enough recognition on RB and I couldn’t think of an ending for myself :-))))))
So sorry no prizes, but a little competitive push never hurt anyone.

We used to chisel in the rock,
For our memory, it may cloud
For then in future years to come
our stories would be told….

ah – a challenge!! right then…........ (wanders off to take an asprin and find a pen)
and gathered round the fire at night
we stilled our breath to hear
the wondrous tales from long ago
that thrilled and filled with fear
poppykitten, 8 months ago
Dave, your asprin obviously worked.
there are signs of genius coming out of everyone today.

And every day a little thought comes bursting through, like moths to the light.

to the magic of the lore
Willow the Wisp, shriek and howl!

let us set children to laugh,
gasping and rolling to the floor!

There lived a young man so strong and so tanned,
whose heart was laden with woes.
For he loved a young lass, who was raised with such class,
But she prefered those who wore pretty bows!
LOL!!

A child born in forest deep,
From magical design,
His destiny was carved in stone
His burdens stood in line.
The time was right to take the fight,
to vanquish his lands foes,
He stood so tall and took the fall,
So man could freely go.
poppykitten, 8 months ago
Ooooh I love that, Matt.
Brilliant.
poppykitten, 8 months ago
Paul, your entry made me laugh out loud, Hilarious

A cheeks bunny bounced about,
His name was Dizzy Pat.
He bounced too much on motorways,
And now the buggers flat.
His sister though, was wiser though,
She rarely ventured off,
But when she did, she found a trap,
Now bunny’s stroganoff!!!!

Sorry about that, I didn’t mean to send that one. It’s full of missstooks.

and the old Crone would respite
with a cackling laugh,
the days of old.
Together we would gather,
listen with delight,
and laugh at familiar lines we knew-
however big that fish grew
with each retelling.
