Taken between Broken Hill and Coober Pedy in Outback Australia.

I had to climb over an electric fence, cross a field of nasty thistles with sharp thorns, ouch times ten, then climb over a barbed wire fence and then do it all again after taking the shot.

Most of the sandstone house had been destroyed
by the elements and looters.

Taken with a Leica R9 using a Leica 80mm 1:4 lens.

Gorgeous old gate and fence..wonderful photo!

  • It was amazing that all that was left was the gate and gateposts and in relatively good condition.
I think it would have been built around the 1850’s

Seek and ye shall. Actually, I just read your story about all the trouble you went to to get that shot. You’re a braver man than I, GD.

  • The harder the task the sweeter the results
