A Roof With A View
Cotswold Collection
This building, largely hidden by trees, was once part of a water mill close to the town of Winchcombe in Gloucestershire and may well have been used as storage space. The roof covering is long gone (probably thatch), but the rafters still remain. Overgrown with ivy and moss, the rafters provide a trellis-like window to the mill’s surroundings.

Thanks everyone. This is less than a couple of miles from where I live, yet I only “discovered” it a few days ago. I’ll be returning to the place when (if) the sun shines again as the original water wheel is still in plce with water pouring over it. Needless to say it doesn’t turn. Regarding this image, I’m not too happy with the colour – maybe I’ll redo it later.

I hope to get back and take some more interesting shots in the not-too-distant future. To be honest it was getting late and my camera packed up soon after this image.
