    just wondering, did you start in the middle and work your way outward? that’s usually how I do my abstracts….

  • Actually, I start with a line that I’m somehow inspired to draw somewhere on the paper, and then the design develops itself from there. I often feel like the design existed before, and I’m just tracing it somehow. You are right, though, that abstracts usually seem to start in the middle and work outward. More intentional designs can start anywhere.

    wow I relate so much to what you’re saying…..I sometimes feel like I too am just tracing some design that is pre-developed and I’m just watching it automatically happen….really a cool feeling and experience…I also notice that time seems to become suspended when I’m in the zone……
