This is a watercolor painting that is currently in my Mother’s collection. The pitcher belonged to my maternal grandmother and the spoon belonged to my paternal grandmother. I loved combining them together as a tribute to both of them! Both the pitcher and the ladle are in my personal collection of antiques.I used a very dry brush to do the Blue Willow Pitcher, for detail, along with a tad of wet on wet toward the bottom of the pitcher. This painting was done on Arches paper.

My life is like a well read book that’s never ending, at least for this moment in time. As I continually add new chapters to my book, I find that my photography plays a big part in it. This is most especially true as my great love and fascination with Mother Naure never wanes. It’s my hope that you, too, will share my joy as the pages in my book of life continue to flip forward! My Very Best, Polly Peacock

You’ve really captured the antiquity of both pieces so well……very, very clever…..

  • Thanks so much Tezz – I used a box that I cut in half to make a still life backdrop after I painted it black – it was a fun watercolor to do and also one full of love for both of my Grandmothers!! I appreciate your kind comment!! :)))

Always something special to paint a picture with true meaning behind it…..

  • Thanks Tezz – when I paint things that have emotional value, the paintings flow so much easier, as I am sure you must know!! :)))
