This was the second summer that Mama nested in my tree. Unfortunately, her baby got out of the nest before he could fly. I rescued him twice from the perils of a dog and a fence. Mama got close to me and frantically pecked the fence to alert me of danger. My Cocker Spaniel had him in his mouth the first time. The second time, the baby, now a fledgling got a leg stuck between two fence boards. I had to pry the fenceboards with a piece of wood to set him free. He broke his leg, but soon after that he was able to fly and now was an official fledgling. This photograph was taken in Roseville, California with a Canon XT.

My life is like a well read book that’s never ending, at least for this moment in time. As I continually add new chapters to my book, I find that my photography plays a big part in it. This is most especially true as my great love and fascination with Mother Naure never wanes. It’s my hope that you, too, will share my joy as the pages in my book of life continue to flip forward! Thanks Keith! That poor little baby was in my yard for a good long while after he broke his leg. I watched as each day he would flutter his wings and get up just a tiny bit higher!
