This photo currently has 388 views. Full of texture, this old cart has a great patina and if full of charm. Handcrafted tools added to the rustic appeal found here. The cast iron elbow shaped object with a chain on it, is actually a brake, put under wheels to keep the cart from rolling. If this old cart could talk, ewwwheee, it would more than probably have some hair raising stories! Unfortunately, most of them will remain etched within the aged and worn wood for the remainder of its being. This photograph was shot with a Canon XTI, equipped with a 75-300 mm lens, during a reenactment of the California Gold Rush Days in Old Town Sacramento, California.

My life is like a well read book that’s never ending, at least for this moment in time. As I continually add new chapters to my book, I find that my photography plays a big part in it. This is most especially true as my great love and fascination with Mother Naure never wanes. It’s my hope that you, too, will share my joy as the pages in my book of life continue to flip forward! My Very Best, Polly Peacock

    Great textures and moody tones!

  • Thank you Kim! This is an old cart that was in Old Town Sacramento History fascinates me!! I may play with this one a tad more to add to the patina!

i love the composition of this polly…and the tones add to mystery of the chain….xox

  • Thanks so much Terri – I need to add this to a few more groups…The chain is attached to a wagon break, so that the wagon wouldn’t roll away!! This is one of my favorites too!! xoxo!! :))
