Artist's Description

Once upon a time, I used to live very close to Lancaster, PA, where Amish farms and their animals are quite abundant. This shot of a beautiful Thoroughbred, was taken while on my way to Lancaster on Christmas day in 2004. The snow accentuated both this gorgeous creature, decked out in his green blanket. The contrast was compelling enough for me to do a double take, stop and take this photograph. This horse is used to pull Amish buggies and is dedicated to all Amish people who choose to lead a simpler life in a world that is rampant with technology.

This photograph was shot with a Canon XT, equipped with a 75-300mm lens in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA and modified with a background Orton Effect.
