A mystical mist rose over Catalina Island during sunrise. Catalina Island is located 26 miles west of Los Angeles in the Pacific Ocean and is part of the state of California. It’s loaded with history, most notably for the Avalon Casino where famous Big Band musicians played in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Casino means gathering place in Italian vs. gambling. The Avalon Casino usually averaged 4,000 people dancing the night away for a whopping 28 years. I can only imagine how much fun they would have had, since Big Band music always makes me want to dance!!
This photograph was taken with a Canon XTI, equipped with a 75mm wide angle lens from a boat in the Pacific Ocean, Catalina Island, California, USA. It was stunning at best!!
