Montauk’s lighthouse was the first to be built within the state of New York, and is currently the fourth oldest active lighthouse in the United States. Located in Long Island, NY on the further most eastern most tip of the island, it is located inside Montauk Point State Park. Construction began on June 7, 1796, and was completed on November 5, 1796, the first public works project of the United States of America. This photograph was shot with a Canon 40D, equipped with a 18-200mm lens.

My life is like a well read book that’s never ending, at least for this moment in time. As I continually add new chapters to my book, I find that my photography plays a big part in it. This is most especially true as my great love and fascination with Mother Naure never wanes. It’s my hope that you, too, will share my joy as the pages in my book of life continue to flip forward! My Very Best, Polly Peacock
