Emergency Helicopter, NSW by Sharon Brown

Greeting Cards & Postcards

Available to buy on…

On my regular visit to the John Hunter hospital last week the emergency helicopter arrived with a patient. It was just leaving when I came out of the hospital so I stopped to get a few shots.
I could not believe the wind power from the blades…we were nearly blown off our feet!

For those who want to know…..
VH-SYV AgustaWestland AW139 – it’s the most recent and final addition leased to the New South Wales Ambulance Service fleet of helicopters.
Owned by CHC Helicopters (Australia) of Adelaide.
The AW139 is a conventional twin-engined transport helicopter with a 5-blade fully articulated main rotor and a 4-blade tail rotor and a retractable landing gear.
The AW139 is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6C turboshaft engines.
