In the ‘Forests of the Night’
Where tigers lurk and beasts take flight
He quietly watches, eyes unblinking
Coiled and ready, quietly sinking
Down the branches, down the trees
A rabbit twitches and he freezes
Green as leaves, as green as green
This stealthy hunter can’t be seen
Until he strikes and then – too late..
The chosen prey will meet it’s fate….

The first line of the poem is from the William Blake poem of the same name…..the rest is mine…I have always loved that poem…..
Camera Nikon D300
Lens Macro 60 mm
Edited in aperture 3 and Photoshop 4
Textures from ShadowHouse Creations on Flickr and myself
Taken in Chester Zoo reptile house, Cheshire, quite dark conditions, behind glass…

Great work Polly – did you write the poem too? ☺x

  • Yes…do you like it? My dad always wanted me to write, but I never managed it while he was alive..I am trying to make up for it now…but slowly! I am finding my feet…

Wow, this is an amazing shot Polly, well done :-)))

  • I was so pleased Michael, because it was so damn dark in the reptile house, and that glass / perspex was pretty grubby!!
